Itinerary:

Pick up from your hotel or Airport& begin your safari to Selous Game Reserve. This will be a 5hours drive through the coastal region. Enjoy picnic lunch en-route. Upon arrival enjoy a short rest and later embark on a boat safari. Overnight at Kinga Lodge or similar on full board basis.

Start the day with a walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. This will take you through a wide part of the game reserve. Breath in the intoxicating smell of the African bush; a mixture of the earth and animal odour. You will not only try to identify the different animal spoor but your guide will share with you his knowledge of different flora in the park. The local people use some of these plant species for medicinal purposes. There after you will embark on a full day game drive in the reserve with a picnic lunch. Enjoy the waterfalls before returning to your lodge for overnight. Overnight at Kinga Lodge or similar on full board basis.
Selous Game Reserve covers 50000sq km and is the largest game reserve in Africa. The reserve supports enormous number of elephants, buffaloes& Wildebeests. The reserves also hosts the rare wild dogs & black rhinos. The reserve is centered on the Rufiji River which meanders through the park from its head waters from Ruaha valley to the river delta opposite of Mafia islands. The Rufiji River and its surrounding forests& grasslands are a haven to a wider variety of wildlife which are sustained by this perennial river.

Take your flight to Ruaha national Park. On arrival you will be met by our driver guide and proceed for the afternoon game drive. Overnight at Ruaha Mdonya Old Camp or similar on full board basis.

Ruaha National Park, is Tanzania’s biggest park and a host to a number of animals which are rare or absent in the Northern Tanzania which include the African Wild dogs, Roan Antelope, Sable Antelope, and the greater Kudu. The great Ruaha River which provides life in the park flows on the Eastern side of the park and is a home to crocodiles, hippos and a variety of water birds. -
After an early breakfast, drive from Ruaha National Park to Tanzania/ Malawi border and after clearing with the immigration formalities, visit the Karonga Project Museum where hundreds of fossils dating back from dinosaur time some 100 million years ago to the period of first humans some 5 million years ago. A 2.5million years old lower jaw of Homo Rudolfensis were found. Overnight at Mikoma Beach Hotel or similar on bed& breakfast.

Depart early in the morning for Nyika National Park. Overnight at Chelinda Camp or similar on full board basis.

Established in 1965 Nyika National Park is the largest and oldest National Park in Malawi. The park is made up of rolling grassy hills surrounded by steep escarpments and interspersed with forested valleys, most of which are above 2,000m above sea level. The vast plateau is a perfect place for game drives, horseback riding & long walks through the long grass. Streams and dams are stocked with trout, and game such as elands, zebras, roan antelopes, waterbucks& smaller antelopes roam the area. Night drives reveals the eyes of hyenas, jackals, and plenty of owls and if you are lucky you might spot a leopard. A variety of 200 species of orchids cover the grasslands in the spring.

After breakfast depart for Makuzi beach in Nkhata Bay. Overnight at Makuzi Beach Resort or similar on bed& breakfast.

All the 8 chalets overlooking the lake are tastefully furnished and have en-suite facilities. Each has its own solar power and hot water boiler. Optional activities include village walks, water sports, fishing& kayaking among others.

In comparison to many other African parts, Malawi is still under developed and very African. Although there are big international supermarkets in the city, you will notice as you fly over Lilongwe villages surrounding the city. Walks around Lilongwe are very peaceful and people are very friendly and welcoming. The capital is divided into two areas; the old& new town. The old town houses the residential areas, banks, shops& Lilongwe market. The New Town as the name suggests you will find, diplomatic missions, up market residences, NGO offices and government offices. The airport is 30 kilometers from the Centre. Diner is optional at the hotel or in other restaurants within town. Overnight at Latitude 36 or similar on bed& breakfast.
