Itinerary:

• Day 1: Flight - Nairobi

  Upon arrival at JKIA airport you will met by Sunlive Adventure Trails’ staff and transferred to Fairview hotel for check in and remainder of the day at leisure.

  Overnight at Fairview hotel or similar on bed and breakfast basis.

• Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha

  Start your exploration of this beautiful city as you depart to the Giraffe Centre. This is a nature centre run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. An elevated observation walkway allows you to get face to face with 18-foot-tall Rothschild’s giraffes. After the giraffe centre, you will depart to the David Sheldrick Elephant trust where you will see the baby elephants, those that have been adopted being fed. You can actually adopt an elephant too. There after this adventure, Have lunch at the Karen Blixen coffee gardens. After lunch depart and head straight to Lake Naivasha arriving late in the afternoon. Check in at your lodge followed by an afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge or similar.

• Day 3: Lake Naivasha

  Our driver/guide will pick you this morning after breakfast at about 0800hrs and proceed on a daytrip to Lake Nakuru national park. You will arrive after an hour then continue straight with game drive in this park before having hot lunch at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in Lake Nakuru National park. After lunch, we will set out for an afternoon game viewing drive. The park is renowned to be a bird watchers’ paradise due to the numerous populations of birds, the most famous being the thousands of flamingos which form a very beautiful deep pink coloration around the edges of the lake shore. Apart from these flamingos and other over 400 species of birds, there are approx. 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. At 1600hrs, check out of the park and continue with your journey back to Lake Naivasha for dinner and overnight at the Naivasha Sopa lodge or similar.

• Day 4: Lake Naivasha

  After breakfast, you will Visit the Hells Gate National Park this morning. The park is famous for its natural hot geysers, eagle and vulture breeding grounds, visitors have the choice of driving, walking, camping, cycling and rock-climbing within the park. Horseback safaris can also be arranged. Hell’s Gate National Park special locations to view include: Fischer’s Tower, formerly a volcano’s plug, the Central Tower and Njorowa Gorges. The hot springs and a fabulous scenic landscape besides the diverse game are just incredible. Return for lunch at your lodge .After lunch, you will take a boat ride to the Crescent Island; a private Wildlife Sanctuary on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. The island is a submerged rim of a volcanic crater and here, you can walk among the yellow barked “fever trees” with the possibility of seeing various animals. Visitors can enjoy the wildlife and tranquil environment. Animals you may see are giraffe, zebra, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, waterbuck, eland, and a great many bird species. The huge fish eagle with its distinctive cry is common to the area. Transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge or similar.

• Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Mount Kenya

  This morning after breakfast we depart Lake Naivasha and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Sweetwaters land, the OlPejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi. We visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens! In fact Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya. Moreover, the camp has its own private waterhole and salt lick so we’ll be guaranteed unprecedented close encounters. Whether its day or night game drives, camel trekking, lion tracking, al fresco dining or relaxing by pool, Sweetwaters is bound to delight.

• Day 6: Explore Sweetwaters/OlPejeta Sanctuary Game Sanctuary

  Today we explore exotic Sweetwaters Sanctuary on two extensive game runs. Our luxury camp also overlooks one of the busiest waterhole in the area and offers elephant, giraffe and myriad plains game. This is Africa as Teddy Roosevelt saw it years ago when he led one of the first safaris to tour Africa in comfort and splendor. Our tents at Sweetwaters will remind us of this bygone era.

• Day 7: Olpejeta/Sweetwaters - Nairobi

  An early morning game drive in OlPejeta Sweetwaters Conservancy. The Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion).The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of OlPejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. After breakfast depart by road to Nairobi. On arrival, drop off at the airport or hotel for your onward travel arrangements.
